Description: This flagship Artisan fluted floorstander makes a strong style statement.  Like a column out of a medieval cathedral, yet strikingly modern, it has vertically fluted, curved sides and is finished in piano black-- unique! It has a surprisingly big sound stage and extended musical bass with its practical Transmission Line design, and the sort of refined audio performance you would expect after seeing its beautiful stylish appearance. The previous similar 8883PRTL was a real artisan of sound and is used professionally by a highly regarded nationwide CD reviewer, but this speaker is a further refinement of the design using a new Scanspeak range of drivers. It is fast, accurate, Extended, and above all, has that wonderful quality of faithfully, lucidly recreating a live soundstage to evelope you in either a stereo or home theatre system.  Huge sound stage, efficient, clean and accurate, these ribbon Artisans are comparable and more natural sounding than other well known brands costing much more.

Description: This is a smaller 2-way version of the 8883CSHTL above and has the same quality level of drivers and general design features, but in a more practical size for smaller rooms, or for use as a rear/surround speaker in a large system. And, of course, it has the same  beautiful lines and appearance of the  whole Artisan series.  A version of the same size speaker with two 170 mm (6 inch) drivers per cabinet, the A6642SHTL, is available for an extra $100.
